London Calling

Greetings from Logan Airport! We've all safely arrived in Boston (minus one — see you in London, Ashley!) and will be boarding the first leg of our flight in about an hour.

We'd like to take this time to talk a little more about what we'll be doing in India. The Global Policy Leadership Practicum is a tool for connecting Dartmouth students to the world and providing real-world international policy experience for a select group of students engaged with the Rockefeller Center.

Our task this fall has been to learn as much as we can about India, with the goal of creating a task force report on the country's economic state of affairs. Together, we are in the process of preparing this report, which will make specific policy recommendations on everything from fiscal concerns to issues surrounding caste and gender. The hypothetical audience for the report is senior leaders in the Indian government, and other such policy types. The report aims to take a substantive, politically nuanced, historically accurate and culturally sensitive look at India's economic situation and offer suggestions that are as specific and actionable as possible

We will spend the next two and a half weeks meeting with local policy leaders, from politicians and academics to journalists, business leaders, and other "on the ground" experts. Stay tuned for updates as we make our way to Mumbai!
